Few manufacturers have built up such an outstanding reputation for reliability and service than Volkswagen. As one of the oldest and most recognisable names in the motoring industry, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the independent marquee that produces Volkswagen vans, can actually trace its roots back to 1947.
It was in that year that Dutch importer Ben Pon made a sketch of what was to ultimately become the first Volkswagen van – the Transporter. Full production of the Volkswagen Transporter began in 1950 and to this day, Volkswagen van drivers can still get behind the wheel of a Transporter.
One of the most popular Volkswagen vans is the Caddy, which was introduced in 1982. Today the Volkswagen Caddy is a stylish, well-balanced vehicle with a load compartment that combines load space with versatile access.
The Volkswagen Crafter won top honours at the What Van? awards and is available from AVANTE as a panel van.
